Utah State Fair Park Grand Building Historic Restoration -- Salt Lake City, Utah

Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the Utah State Fair Park Grand Building had been condemned for further use unless substantial structural deficiencies, deteriorating building materials, and life saving violations were addressed in a renovation and restoration effort. Architectural Nexus was chosen to lead an architectural and engineering team in the evaluation and design of returning this significant 35,000 square foot building to useful public service.

Architectural Nexus received the AIA Award of Merit, the Utah Heritage Citation Award, and the Utah Heritage Award of Merit for the restoration and remodel of the Fair Park Grand Building as well as a feature article in the Utah Preservation Magazine in 1997. Architectural Nexus also masterplanned the State Fair Park and restored several other facilities including the Home Arts Building which received a Utah Heritage Foundation Award of Merit.
