Award-Winning Educational Design
Architectural Nexus has an award-winning staff specialized in educational design. Successful educational design requires the architect to commit to staying abreast of current pedagogical thinking and connecting that knowledge with the tactical ability to produce structures to meet a variety of needs. Today's schools are expected to be a place for far more than everyday learning. They are community centers for athletic and cultural events, after-hours training centers for adult or specialized classes, voting headquarters, and secure environments in an uncertain world.
Students expect to be more visually stimulated than previous generations. The methods of teaching have adapted to fit this trend and there are ever-increasing needs for access to new technologies. Our team follows these trends and is known for incorporating the latest research into attractive and structurally significant educational projects. Our recent awards for educational design include the coveted National School Board Association's Design Award for the West Valley Elementary School, the IC's Best Architectural Design 2001 for Salt Lake Community College's Student Pavilion, and a PCI Excellence in Design Award for the Biomedical Polymers Research Facility at the University of Utah.
