New Student Pavilion, Salt Lake Community College, South Jordan Campus -- South Jordan, Utah

A new student pavilion for the Jordan Campus of Salt Lake Community College, this "hub" on the campus is the gateway to activity. Located within the facility is an indoor commons area, computer stations, dining facilities, and meeting areas. Also available in the space is a unique lecture hall with the ability to house both indoor and outdoor activities. The "solar panel" or "sail" acts as a cover from the elements and lends shade to an outdoor amphitheater.

The design-build team of Architectural Nexus and Union Pointe Construction were awarded this project in a design competition where internationally renowned architects participated. Architectural Nexus and Union Pointe design-build team were honored with the "Best in Architectural Design" Award 2001 from the Intermountain Contractor Utah.
