Logan
Transit Center - Logan, Utah
The Logan Transit Center is a $1.1 million hub or interconnected
point for the transit riders for both the Logan Transit District
and the newly formed Cache Valley Transit District. The Transit
Center serves as a shelter for those waiting for the bus,
a place to get information or discuss issues with transit
representatives, and it provides shelter and safety for passengers
as they move from one bus to another. The design of the Transit
Center needed to achieve several objectives. It is to act
as a visual representation or "center" for the system. As
such, it needed to be tall and identifiable. It also needed
to serve as a catalyst for the neighborhood. The design is
actually reminiscent of urban rail or bus stations of European
or Eastern cities. It has a simple elegance, high spaces to
lead one into the gathering space and refined detailing.
