Jordanelle State Park - Wasatch County, Utah

Architectural Nexus designed the Rockcliff site and the Hailstone site as part of the $4 million Jordanelle project for the State of Utah. Nexus used the natural environment and surrounding materials as a palette for design of the nature center and surround facilities. For both sites, Nexus designed 12 building types for a total of 52,000 square feet. Facilities types included: visitor-nature center with reception, information areas, theater room, exhibit and observation area with large windows and decks; campgrounds and pavilions; restrooms; interpretive area with outdoor amphitheater; boating facilities with covered storage boat ramps and slips, fish cleaning stations; convenience store with fishing supplies, rentals, snack bar, first aid station and office; trail system to accommodate hikers, joggers, bikers, and skiers; maintenance building for heavy and light maintenance; offices for Regional and Division of Wildlife Resources, State Park Superintendent, Regional and DOW Administrator; and two ranger residences.
