The Arch Nexus Salt Lake City office is a complete overhaul of an existing building to create a modern and sustainable office environment for Architectural Nexus in Salt Lake City. Architectural Nexus purchased a 1950’s era cement block building which had housed several long-term tenants over the years but had been vacant for five years prior to the purchase. The bones of the building were good and provided an excellent basis to create a truly sustainable reuse project from which to launch our design efforts on behalf of our clients with similar commitments to the environment. This office is now one of only a handful of buildings nationwide to achieve LEED Platinum status in two rating systems, New Construction and Exising Building and Operations. Solar power, daylighting, waste diversion, ongoing energy benchmarking, material re-use, and alternative transportation programs are just some of the ongoing efforts that have helped make this remarkable workspace.
