The City of Stockton has procured Arch Nexus to provide programming, public outreach, and design services for a new library and recreation center to serve their community. This library and recreation center will be a community center that provides services for the public in unique ways that combine cultures and activities that will bring the community together and create programs that will have a favorable economic impact on the community. Combining new technologies in maker spaces that tie into agriculture, food preparation, and culture will make a unique community building asset. The Demographics of Stockton California vary greatly from community to community within the city limits. Some initial research indicates that the northeast community of Stockton, where Nexus’ newly designed library awaits to be built, is very similar to the demographics found in the area that the Clearfield Library serves. What’s more, this library fronts a busy street and intersection and faces some of the same site planning issues Clearfield is facing.
