Responsibilities:

  • Working in a fast-paced, inclusive environment, focusing on and community-based projects.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the overall design intent of the project as established by the Project Designer is incorporated into the detailed documentation.
  • Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the entire Project Team.
  • Attends on-site visits to observe construction progress and attend project meetings as required for the project. Prepares and coordinates the review of contractor’s schedules, submission of RFI responses and other coordination documents in order to verify design intent.
  • Develops a positive relationship of trust with clients and other project stakeholders.
  • Monitor the design process from conceptual phase through construction administration, ensuring the design idea is consistent and properly executed.
  • Responsible for technical resolution and coordination for a project or a defined portion of a project.
  • Checks completed plans for accuracy.
  • Responsible for communication with other disciplines, consultants, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all project requirements and provides support as necessary.
  • Ensures that construction detail documentation conforms to quality assurance, quality control and best practice standards.
  • Fosters a commitment to client service.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Licensed Architect in the State of Utah.
  • 8+ years of architecture design experience.
  • Proficient with Autodesk Revit.
  • Proficient with Bluebeam Revu or other markup software.
  • Able to prepare a full set of construction documents.
  • Strong knowledge of design, trends, and construction methodology.
  • Knowledge of architectural building systems.
  • Knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate into technical documents
  • Ability to work in team environment.
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Sustainable design accreditation a plus.

Jobs: Building Performance Analyst Wanted at Arch Nexus

Position Description:

We are looking for an experienced Building Performance Analyst to join our employee owned firm. This position is for an analyst who can work collaboratively with the architectural team to inform and influence design from initial concept, through all phases of design and certification. Candidates are expected to scale their efforts appropriately to the phase of design to adequately guide projects towards energy goals.

  • Collaborate with the design team to meet energy goals.
  • Generate whole building energy analysis from concept to certification.
  • Analyze energy envelope, HVAC, lighting, and other building systems.
  • Evaluate airflow, thermal comfort, and indoor air quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be passionate about regenerative design
  • Proficient with daylight modeling.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Architectural Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of energy modeling experience in the AEC industry required. Preference given to candidates with more experience.
  • Strong understanding of building science and building technology systems such as HVAC, envelope, and lighting.
  • Proficient with IES-VE energy modeling software.
  • Experience with modeling protocols such as ASHRAE 90.1, California Title 24, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient and experienced in creating modeling reports for LEED certification requirements.
  • Comfortable receiving and incorporating critical feedback.
  • Ability to work quickly and be deadline oriented.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • BEMP certification
  • Ability to calculate Life Cycle Analysis
  • Familiarity with Revit
  • Familiarity with CFD analysis
  • Experience with scripting and programming

The successful candidate will work with an integrative team through all phases of design including programming and planning, to develop and document holistic designs for a variety of project types.
