Kearns Library

The new Kearns Library serves to regenerate the Kearns community and is the seed that will create lasting change to cultivate the people, place, and platform that is a community library. Through urban re-wilding of a busy transportation route, the Kearns Library will make streets for people, not just for cars. Grower and maker spaces that are in, on, and around the new library create the spark for regeneration. The design brings people together in a comfortable fashion, welcomes cultural diversity, provides a sense of choice and opportunity, and mixes the kind of creative yet cozy ambiance that one expects of a library. Interactive spaces within the library offer a new hub of activity drawing public interest and the community back into the public realm.
