The 20,000 SF Glendale Library is a branch of the Salt Lake City Public Library System serving a diverse neighborhood near downtown Salt Lake City. The curvature of the front facade protects it from the sun at appropriate times of the year while creating a front porch that reaches out to the community with open arms. Much of the design represents the multicultural community it serves. A symbolic river flows through the flooring and out to the outdoor patios, representing a nearby waterway that has historic significance to the community. The vibrant color of the interior and exterior as well as the commons space were inspired by the community members who participated in our SEED design process. The facility is LEED Silver.
