Alta Calcagno is taking on a new role as the 2025 Secretary of the Board for the National Organization of Minority Architects in Utah. Alta will support NOMA Utah in growing opportunities for diversity and inclusion in architecture. The organization empowers architects through mentorship, education, and outreach programs. By fostering a supportive environment and inspiring future generations, NOMA UT contributes to a more equitable and inclusive profession that better reflects diverse communities.

Before joining Arch Nexus, Alta honed her skills in various sectors across the Caribbean and the United States, specializing in residential, commercial, and historic renovation projects. At Arch Nexus, she focuses on Industrial and Federal projects while actively contributing to the firm’s Social Equity Committee and supporting architect professional development.

Beyond her architectural pursuits, Alta is a passionate advocate for community well-being, serving as Chair of the Historic Preservation Commission in Grantsville, UT. Her focus on understanding people and their motivations drives her to create spaces that not only look beautiful but also enhance lives.
Alta finds joy in her family, her faith, and the natural world. She enjoys spending time with her husband Chris, exploring the outdoors, and caring for their menagerie of animals. Her creative spirit thrives through cooking, crafting, gardening, and the constant pursuit of beautiful spaces in both her personal and professional life.
Architectural Nexus is pleased to support Alta in this new role with NOMA Utah and is privileged to have her on our team. Her passion for community well-being, combined with her exceptional design skills, makes her an invaluable asset to our firm and the communities we serve.
