BIM Manager - Salt Lake City


Position Description

Architectural Nexus is seeking a BIM Manager to join our Salt Lake City office. This is an in-person role requiring close collaboration with project teams, firm leadership, consultants, and IT.


As a BIM Manager with Arch Nexus, you will lead the firm's Building Information Modeling (BIM) strategy while supporting project delivery through the development of standards, training, technology implementation, and digital innovation. This role combines technical leadership, education, quality assurance, and strategic thinking to ensure consistent, efficient, and forward-looking BIM practices across the firm.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and implementation of Architectural Nexus BIM Standards, templates, and digital workflows

  • Provide firmwide BIM leadership and technical support for project teams

  • Develop and deliver BIM Standards training programs, workshops, and educational resources for staff at all experience levels

  • Serve as the BIM lead on assigned projects by establishing project models, defining modeling workflows, and supporting project teams throughout design and construction

  • Coordinate consultant model exchanges, clash detection processes, and interdisciplinary model integration

  • Review project models and drawing deliverables to ensure compliance with Nexus BIM Standards and quality expectations

  • Mentor staff in BIM best practices, modeling techniques, documentation standards, and workflow improvements

  • Research, evaluate, and implement emerging BIM technologies, AI tools, automation workflows, and third-party software integrations

  • Collaborate with IT and software vendors to deploy, maintain, and support BIM-related technologies

  • Develop and maintain BIM templates, model libraries, naming conventions, data standards, and project startup resources

  • Monitor BIM performance metrics and recommend continuous improvements to firmwide digital practices

  • Support production teams with complex modeling challenges, documentation workflows, and project delivery


Required Skill Set

  • Five or more years of professional BIM experience, including at least three years in an architecture or related AEC firm

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent professional training in BIM or related field

  • Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360), and AutoCAD

  • Strong understanding of BIM standards, model coordination, documentation workflows, and QA/QC processes

  • Demonstrated experience developing BIM standards, templates, and project workflows

  • Experience delivering technical training and mentoring staff with varying levels of BIM proficiency

  • Familiarity with Dynamo, PyRevit, APIs, automation tools, and BIM interoperability platforms

  • Ability to evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including AI-enabled design and documentation tools

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, consultants, IT professionals, and firm leadership

  • Experience with Rhino, Grasshopper, SketchUp, Python, C#, ImaginIT Clarity, or Guardian by IconicBIM is beneficial
